Press On

Did you ever feel like that there is more in God then you are experiencing? Do you ever feel like sometimes you are on the edge of a break through, and it just all fades away? Does it get lost in the trials of life. We know that there are seasons when the Lord is trying to get our attention, and we are just distracted or not interested. We hear when he is calling and we don’t answer just like Adam we hide. In these times we simply miss the blessings God is wanting to give us.

We have become so consumed with the day to day things we experience that by the end of the day we forget or are too tired to fellowship with the Lord. We are too busy and just plainly don’t put Him first. I know I can personally be over come; let alone over whelmed with all the situations that can arise in a day, and if I don’t keep them in their proper order I will be terrified and my fears will swallow me up.

Life can frazzle us to the point of sheer exhaustion; and we will start to live our lives out of past growth, mistakes and experiences, because this is an easy way to hang on. That’s right sometimes we are hanging on for our lives by a string, and hope seems to be gone. Sometimes we are being driven to a point of exhaustion. But someday we will have to pay the tab for the way we live our lives today.

It comes down to the priorities of our lives. What is most important in our lives and what order do we put them in. Also how we live through the trials and situations of our life. Do we joyfully grip and hold fast, or are we kicking and screaming for this trial and its pain to end. We must learn to press onward until the storms of our live have passed. We must learn to seek God for he does have the answer, and provides us with strength to overcome. There is a Hymn, “I am pressing on the upward way,” and we must to learn to press on no matter where we find ourselves, and our prayer and our aim should be for higher ground. Hallelujah!

I’m pressing on the upward way,

New heights I’m gaining every day;

Still praying as I onward bound,

“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay

Where doubts arise and fears dismay;

Though some may dwell where these abound,

My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

My God and my Savior, I am blessed for I know who you are in my life; and whose I am. I am blessed for you provide me with grace, mercy and new benefits everyday. Sometimes I have made wrong decisions, brought shame upon your name, but today Merciful God I ask that you forgive me. Forgive me Lord for the times I have heard your voice and refused to listen to you, been distracted or simply was not interested. I repent today Lord, and am seeking your forgiveness as I press onward. My prayer today is that I aim for higher ground. Grounds which are not contaminated with jealousy, envy, lies, destruction, and greed. I ask this day that you bless me with your peace, love, joy, spiritual and financial blessings. Plant me this day as I pray the prayer of faith over my life, family, and friends. Heal my mind, body and spirit, create in me a right spirit and a clean heart in Jesus Name. Amen.
